Youth Council Hosts Cultural Togetherness Event

Teens create event to celebrate food and entertainment across the globe

Rochester Hills, MI- The Rochester Hills Youth Council will be celebrating a Cultural Togetherness Fair on Saturday May 21 from 2pm to 5pm at Rochester Adams High School.

The purpose of the diverse event is to celebrate, recognize, and educate others about the many cultures in our community along with offering authentic food and entertainment for all to enjoy. Free food will be provided by a number of restaurants and cultural organizations within the Oakland County area, including Srodek’s Campau Quality Sausage, Sushi Kafe, Lino’s North, and Shish Palace.

“We planned this event with the hopes of providing information about the cultures represented in our community. We are so excited to celebrate these cultures, eat delicious food, and watch amazing performers,” states Youth Council Member Ryan Barrett.

Guests will enjoy a variety of performances such as Polish Halka Dancers, the Motor City Irish Dancers, Argentine Tango Detroit and more.

“I am so proud of the way our young leaders have stepped up to create this community event,” states City Council President Ryan Deel. “I encourage everyone to stop by and enjoy this opportunity to connect with the many cultures across the globe that call Rochester Hills home.”
