Missing Purse

Rochester, MI - July 11, 2022 - Rochester Police took a report of a Larceny of Purse in the 400 block of Main Street. The purse was mistakenly left in a chair. When the owner arrived back within a short time, the purse was gone. Case currently under investigation. No witnesses available.


Police Arrest Drunk Driver Who Left Scene of Crash!

Rochester, MI - July 14, 2022 - At approximately 11:08pm, Rochester Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of 133 S Main St regarding a traffic crash. Dispatch advised a white vehicle struck two vehicles and took off from the scene. Officers drove E/B towards the rear of the parking lot and discovered a white Saturn Vue, parked legally facing S/B in the parking lot.

Officer’s spoke with the driver of the vehicle, a 54-year old from Waterford who later admitted to causing the accident. He had a strong odor of intoxicants emitting from his breath when he spoke. Officers requested for the driver to conduct field sobrieties. The driver failed them. A PBT was taken and the result was, .18%. He was arrested for OWI, taken to the Rochester Police Department where a search warrant for blood was filed. He was then held until sober. Warrant for OWI 3rd will be sought.


Drunken Moped Driver Arrested!

Rochester, MI - July 15, 2022 - At approximately 10:45pm a Rochester officer was traveling W/B on E. Second approaching East Alley. Officer observed a moped/motorcycle traveling N/B East Alley, then stopping at E. Second. The moped turned right(E/B) onto E. Second without using a turn signal. Officer performed a U-turn and began to follow the moped as it continued E/B E. Second. The moped had an extremely dim running tail light and no operating brake lights. Officer also did not notice any license plate or sticker on the moped.

The moped then turned right(S/B) onto Mill, again without using a turn signal. Officer effected a traffic stop on Mill near First. Officer greeted the driver, a 23-year old from Washington Township and began to speak with him about his travels. While speaking with the driver, officer noticed the driver had what appeared to be fresh grass stains on his pants, appearing to recently have fallen. He stated the moped is 50CC, however he spray painted over the moped sticker. The driver provided officer with a paper/bill of sale which was nearly completely burnt.

Due to the poor condition of the paper, Officer was unable to read a VIN. While speaking with the driver, officer could smell an odor of intoxicants emitting from his breath. He was given field sobriety tasks and the driver failed the Sobriety tasks. He was given a PBT and the result was .09%. He was arrested for OWI and taken to the Rochester Police Department where he was given a breathalyzer test. The result was .11 and .11 BAC. He was held until sober. Ticket written for OWI.


Multiple Reports of Larceny from Vehicles

Rochester, MI - July 18, 2022 - Rochester Police had taken multiple reports of Larceny from vehicles. Unknown suspect’s had taken items out of multiple unlocked vehicles on the Southeast section of the City. Rochester Police are advising Rochester residents to lock vehicle doors when unattended. No witnesses available. Incidents are currently being investigated.
