Sat, Oct 1

Adoptable Pets Day. 12pm to 4pm. All Ages (free)

Animal rescue group “Paws for Life” will have adoptable animals available to meet and walk with throughout the day, a pop-pup sale of pet toys, training/behavior presentations, and pet portrait art available for $10 donation– bring your photo or email in advance to Grace@pawsforliferescue.org

Sat, Oct 8

Bee Prepared! 2pm. All Ages ($6)

Have you ever wondered what the inside of a bee hive looks like? Or how they survive a Michigan winter? Come learn about the world of bees and explore our hive before our pollinator friends move in this spring.

Tue, Oct 11

After School Animals. 4pm to 5pm. Grades 2-5 ($7 per child)

Looking for fun after school? Each 2nd Tuesday of the month we’ll take a closer look at a different type of wildlife and create a model to take home. Parents are welcome to stay or drop-off.

Thu, Oct 13

Rock Pups Club. 4pm to 5pm. Grades 2-5 ($7/5 per child)

Looking for fun after school? Each 2nd Thursday of the month we’ll play mineral games & identify the rocks we’ve found. Parents are welcome to stay or drop-off.

Fri, Oct 14

Nature Tales Classic. 10am to 11 am. Suggested Ages 3-5 ($6 per session)

Every 3rd Friday of the month at this program, we’ll read a story, eat a snack, and make a craft that matches the theme.

Thu, Oct 20

Scary Story Conservation Campfire- Arctic Grayling. 6pm to 8pm. All ages ($5 with a max fee per family of $15)

The scariest fear conservationists have is the extinction of a species. Listen to the harrowing tales that some plants & animals face. S’mores supplies will be provided.

HALLOWEEN HOOT. Ticket times start at 5:40 pm

All Ages $9 per person PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. Join us for our 31st year of celebrating the spooky season at our transformed trails for Halloween fun for the whole family. Singing pumpkins, the Monster Mash band, a brief nature program on snakes, & more!

Thu, Oct 27

Nature Book Club. 6pm to 7:30pm. Teens-Adults (Donation)

Read The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben, then join us for a lively discussion about the book, light refreshments, and get up close with some of the nature elements found within the pages. Zoom option available.

About Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve

Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve is a 501(c)(3) non-profit institution the encompasses 16 acres of land located in Rochester, MI. The preserve offers environmental education to residents through programs and classes, both on site and in the classroom, and are the stewards of the land under their leadership.

The preserve trails are open to the public daily from dusk until dawn and are free to experience. We do ask that visitors remain on the designated trails as to not disturb the natural progress of nature. The trails are open 7 days a week, sun up to sun down.
