Meadow Brook Theatre Celebrates 40 Years of Holiday Magic with A Christmas Carol

Running Nov. 18 through Dec. 24, 2022, on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan

One of southeast Michigan’s favorite holiday traditions returns for its 40th year when Ebenezer, Tiny Tim and a handful of ghosts raise your spirits in A Christmas Carol at Meadow Brook Theatre this November and December.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, original adaptation and staging by Charles Nolte, runs at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills from November 18 through December 24, 2022.

MBT favorite Thomas D. Mahard returns as Ebenezer Scrooge this year. Ben Ellison from Rochester Hills and Conrad Nichols from Shelby Township share the role of Tiny Tim. The cast also includes Anthony Guest (Ghost of Jacob Marley), Mary Magyari (Spirit of Christmas Past), Tamara Della Anderson (Spirit of Christmas Present), Tyler Bolda (Spirit of Christmas Future), and Stephen Blackwell and Kristina Riegle as Mr. & Mrs. Cratchit.

“We truly love A Christmas Carol,” says Cheryl Marshall, MBT managing director. “We’re happy to be presenting it for the 40th year and look forward to seeing familiar faces both on stage and in the audience.”

Meadow Brook Theatre's adaptation was written and originally staged by Charles Nolte. Terry W. Carpenter directs this season’s production with original choreography by Jan Puffer. Brittanie Nichole Sicker and Stacy White are both stage managers throughout the run. Scenic design is by Peter W. Hicks, lighting design by Reid G. Johnson, assistant lighting design by Phillip Hall, costume design by Mary Pettinato, and sound design by Mike Duncan.

Tickets range from $36 to $49 and are available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or by going online at www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of eight or more should call 248-370-3316 for group pricing.

“We want everyone to be able to enjoy A Christmas Carol, and are pleased to have our family weekend again this year. November 18, 19 and 20, children ages 5 to 12 are half price,” says Marshall.
