Rochester Police officers handled 301 calls for service, and responded to 2 traffic accidents.


Drunk Driver Arrested had 3 Prior Drunk Driving Convictions and No License!

Rochester, MI - December 12, 2022 - A Rochester Officer was on patrol in the area of Dequindre and Runyon when he observed a vehicle make a wide right turn entering the southbound left turn lane. The officer followed the vehicle as it continued to swerve out of its lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop shortly after. The officer made contact with the driver and passenger.

The driver admitted to not having a driver license as well as swerving. The officer observed signs of impairment and conducted SFSTs (Standard Field Sobriety Tests). The driver did not pass the SFSTs. The driver was given a roadside PBT (Preliminary Breath Test) which yielded a result of 0.15 BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration). It was also discovered the driver had a suspended license. The driver was placed under arrest for OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) and transported to RPD for a chemical test. As the driver had 3 prior OWI convictions and refused to provide a breath sample. A warrant was sought for blood which occurred without incident. The driver was lodged until sober and a OWI 3 DWLS (Driving While License Suspended) 2 warrant will be sought pending the blood results.


Speeding Driver Arrested had Never Obtained Michigan License!

Rochester, MI - December 16, 2022 - A Rochester officer was performing radar enforcement near W University and Helen when he observed a vehicle traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his radar device which indicated the vehicle was traveling at 46 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver. It was discovered the driver did not have a drivers license in Michigan. The driver was placed under arrest for no license ever acquired and transported to RPD. The driver was processed and released with a speeding ticket and no license ever acquired. The driver was released shortly after.
