One Man Killed and Second Man Seriously Injured Thursday in Two-Vehicle Crash in Oakland Township



Oakland Township, MI – Jan 27, 2023 – A 61-year-old Oakland Township man was killed Thursday after the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and was hit head-on by another vehicle.

The crash happened at 6:16pm on Adams Road near Addison Circle South in Oakland Township. The Oakland Township man was traveling northbound on Adams Road in a 2000 Subaru Outback when he crossed into the southbound lane and hit a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox operated by a 30-year-old Oakland Township man.

The driver of the Subaru was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. He is not being identified pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Equinox was wearing a seatbelt, and was taken to the hospital by the Oakland Township Fire Department paramedics where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.

Alcohol and/or drug use is unknown at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled by the Oakland County Medical Examiner for the 61-year-old Oakland Township man.

The crash is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
