Rochester Community Concert Band presents ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue’



ROCHESTER HILLS, MI, Feb, 2023 - The Rochester Community Concert Band will present ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue’ on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 7:30pm in the Stoney Creek High School Auditorium, 6755 Sheldon Road, Rochester Hills, 48306. The concert is open to the public and admission is free. Donations are gratefully accepted and appreciated.

Featured at the concert will be French Horn Soloist, Megan DeRubeis performing “Isle of Skye” by Scott Boerma, and Guest Conductor Dr. Kevin E. Phillips, Retired Director of Bands, Clawson High School. Dr. Phillips will lead the band in the classic “First Suite in Eb” by Gustav Holst.

Other selections to be performed include: “Blue Shades” by Frank Ticheli, “Cartoon Express” arr. by Les Taylor, “Chasing Sunlight” by Cait Nishimura, “Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion” by P.D.Q. Bach, “Lady Gaga Fugue” arr. by Giovanni Dettori and “Who’s Who in the Navy Blue” by John Philip Sousa.

About Rochester Community Concert Band

The 80-member all volunteer Rochester Community Concert Band is conducted by Paul F. DeRubeis and includes adult community members from the greater Rochester and Rochester Hills area, advanced high school students and college students from Macomb Community College The band also welcomes new members in the clarinet, bassoon, and tuba sections.

The RCCB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization; donations are accepted and greatly appreciated.
