Rochester Police officers handled 233 calls for service, and responded to 4 traffic accidents.


Drunk Driver Slumped at Wheel Blocking Traffic!

Rochester, MI - March 15, 2023 - At approximately 7:30am, Rochester officers were dispatched to the area of Parkdale and Letica for a driver slumped over the wheel. Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle in the northbound lane of Letica, blocking traffic.

During the investigation the driver, a 20-year-old female from Leonard, stated she was drinking until 4am the previous night. The officer asked the driver to perform SFSTs (Standardized Field Sobriety Tests), which the driver failed. The driver was offered a PBT (Preliminary Breath Test) which yielded a result of 0.135 BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration). The driver was placed under arrest and transported to RPD for a chemical test and lodging. Upon arrival to RPD, the driver was given a chemical breath test, which resulted in a 0.15 BAC. The driver was held until sober and released with a citation pending a future court date.


Speeding Drunk Driver Driving Between Lanes Arrested!

Rochester, MI - March 16, 2023 - At approximately 1:43am, a Rochester officer was on patrol in the area of W University and Walnut conducting radar enforcement. The officer observed a dark colored sedan traveling at them at a high rate of speed. The radar indicated the vehicle was traveling at 46 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.

The officer followed the vehicle as it turned onto S Main. As the vehicle continued southbound, it was driving in between the center and curb lane. The officer stopped the vehicle near Main and Second. The driver stated he was driving home. The officer observed signs of impairment and requested the driver perform SFSTs, which the driver failed. The driver was given a PBT, which resulted in a BAC of 0.11. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to RPD for a chemical breath test. The driver was given a chemical breath test, which yielded a result of 0.14 BAC. The driver was issued a citation and lodged until sober.
