Drunk Driver Arrested Was Going 20 MPH Over Speed Limit!

Rochester, MI - March 17, 2023 - At approximately 7:50pm, a Rochester officer was performing radar enforcement in the area of Chase and Dequindre in the City of Rochester. The officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. The radar device indicated the vehicle was traveling at 66 MPH in a posted 45 MPH zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, a 38-year-old male from Shelby Township.

While speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment. The officer conducted SFSTs (Standardized Field Sobriety Tests) which the driver failed. The driver was offered a PBT (Preliminary Breath Test), which yielded a result of 0.12 BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration). The driver was placed under arrest and transported to RPD for processing and lodging. Upon arrival at RPD, the driver was offered a chemical breath test, which yielded a result of 0.16 BAC. The driver was lodged until sober and released with a citation.


Drunken Patron Refuses Uber, Runs Into Traffic!

Rochester, MI - March 17, 2023 - At approximately 11:50pm, Rochester officers were dispatched to O’Connor’s Public House for a male that had fallen. Officers arrived on scene and located the highly intoxicated, 41-year-old male from Rochester. The manager advised due to the subject’s high level of intoxication, an Uber was ordered to take the subject home. The subject became agitated and stated he was going to walk home.

The officers advised the subject, taking an Uber was the safest way to go home. While speaking with the officers, the subject fell over, got back up, and ran into traffic. The subject was apprehended and taken into custody. The subject was transport to RPD where he was offered a PBT, which yielded a result of 0.25 BAC. The subject was lodged until sober and released with a citation.


Driver Arrested Had Stolen License Plate and Outstanding Warrant!

Rochester, MI - March 22, 2023 - At approximately 10:40pm, a Rochester officer was performing selective enforcement in the area of Main and University. The officer observed a vehicle to have an improper plate as well as the driver not wearing a seat belt. The officer also observed the driver to reach for the seatbelt and put it on. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, a 31-year-old male from Waterford.

The officer inquired about the license plate and driver stated he obtained it from his grandfather who was a mechanic. The driver was unable to locate any form of registration or insurance. The officer requested consent to search the vehicle and the driver consented. During the vehicle search, the officer located a Kansas license plate under the seat. The license plate was reported stolen. It was also discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to RPD for processing and lodging. The driver was released pending further investigation.
